Not only are we adding those typical Design Patterns we've all come to know and use, but we will also start the main part of this wiki: a higher level of models representing common business level entities and concepts, that can be found in many real-life projects nowadays.
The reason we wanted to add the Design Patterns, although there are already plenty websites that describe those, is because all of those sites describe the Design Patterns from a programming point of view. Our target audience is not the programmers community, but anyone who uses modelling to analyze a system, where system should be interpreted as broadly as possible.
For now, this wiki is read-only for anonymous visitors and accounts are created only by the administrators of this wiki. If you want to help out, you can contact us through our main email address contact (at) themodelfactory (dot) org. Please consult our page on Contributing to The Model Factory.
July 2010 - Summer in the City
Although summer is a slow period for everyone, we got several requests to enable interactive comments on the site. It was something that was on our mind already for a long time, but we just never got to it. As of today, you can discuss each pattern on the site on it's own discussion page. We have chosen Disqus Comments due to its clean and simple integration. This way we can offer you a real comments system and not confront you with YAA (Yet Another Account) on our wiki. We hope you enjoy it.
By the end of the summer we will continue where we left of some time ago and finalize the first stint, adding all missing and completing all incomplete patterns, improving the overall content and add supporting pages on how things work around here. Once those foundations are in place, we're going to add a new level of models ... Stay tuned.
